July 1st thesis exhibition
This body of work is the culmination of documenting my experience as a mother and educator in TN. I began this work by exploring the joy and love of my community alongside the the uncertainty of the future. By adding digital “suggestions” to my fully- rendered paintings of domestic imagery, I look to build a narrative where courage and connection can exist within a field of despair and uncertainty.

Again, Hybrid experimental animation for 2021 Winter Residency
The work is inspired by an engagement with play and making peace with uncertainty. I work experimentally, using a digital video to explore painting. I use sound and moving images in non-traditional ways to reverse expectations of horror and comedy.
Rooted in the representational illustration genre, the individual paintings are based on domestic scenes, personal artifacts, and the abject. I am drawn to the whimsical nature of self-discovery. I construct repeating narratives, often depicting varying scenarios of serenity, silliness, and reflection.
