Lesson learned in yellow

Mellow yellow. I learned some new things this weekend painting in yellow. I have always struggled with the ‘fat over lean’ thing. Oiling out and varnishing

I am still struggling to paint orange. In my procrastination, I found myself cleaning paintings. Then I decided to oil-out some paintings that looked wonky. It felt great to clean up the work. I have been working on a simplified painting practice. Limited palette, limited brush selection, and limited subject matter. It has been a great experience. I couldn’t be happier with the results. I completed 10-12 paintings focusing on still life in crimson or red. The last week or so I focused on still life in orange.Continue reading “Original”

Cleaning and retouching

My paintings get dust and ‘fuzzies’ on them as they slowly dry. I do not like to see vivid white cat hair clinging to ivory black.
